A backwash valve is a feature that allows the flow of water to be reversed through a sand filter or diatomaceous earth (D.E.) filter in order to refresh the filter by loosening accumulated dirt and debris and leave the sand or (D.E.) clean and ready for further use.
Diverter:
A diverter valve allows the flow of water to be directed in a specific way. It consists of a hydraulic valve, which helps to change the amount of water moving from the main drain and skimmer to the pump. Diverter valves can have either two or three ports. Diverter valves come in a variety of sizes, depending on the amount of water used and the size of the pool's piping.
Multiport Valves:
It is important to select a multiport valve that fits your specific filter because not all multiport valves are compatible with all filters. Multiport valves are usually based on the number of valve positions. These positions include: filter, backwash, waste, re-circulate, rinse, closed, and winter.

Valve actuators are an essential component of automation for swimming pools. When a valve actuator is connected to a diverter valve, it allows automatic pre-programmed features to operate without any assistance.
