Del Ozone CD ozonator chips are simple to replace. 120v & 240v units all use the same chip. This is the exact replacement for the Del Ozone Spa Eclipse, CDS-16, and ECS1.
How do I know if my DEL Ozone spa generator is working
If you have the outdated technology commonly referred to as UV technology, or UV ozone, the lamp will light up for up to 18 years! Therefore, you cannot tell when to replace unless you know the hours of operation. The UV lamps are rated for 9,000 hours. If your UV spa ozone generator is 3 years or older, replace it with a Spa Eclipse Dual Voltage CDS-16 or MCD-50 and don’t forget that special handling is required to retire old UV lamps.
If you have a CDS-16 or a Spa Eclipse (begins with ECS-1), then your ozonator creates ozone using the CD chip technology (part number 5-0561). These chips glow purple, which is the ozone literally being made. As it ages, the glow fades away until it no longer glows.
Another age landmark on the CDS-16 and Spa Eclipse lines are the yellowed tubing and CD Chip Performance Viewing Window. If you can’t see threw it, it’s safe to say you should start fresh with a new Genuine DEL Replacement Spa Eclipse Dual Voltage.
To install this unit remove the old Eclipse CD chip, and plug in the new one... it's that simple. Once you have completed that, install the check valve, and tubing . Your Delzone CDS-16 or Spa Eclipse ozonator is now renewed.
