Technically speaking ozone is the result of 3 atoms of oxygen bonding together. This is caused by UV or a corona discharge rays hitting the oxygen molecules. You might be thinking, “What’s the point of that?” and plain and simple it helps clean your water without harsh chemicals. Now most of us at one point have been in a spa with too much chlorine or bromine and it is very unpleasant. When ozone is used, the oxygen molecules become a stronger oxidizer and kills contaminants easier.
