Espio Swimming Pool Alarm Review

Espro Alarm When it comes to swimming pool safety, you can’t be too careful especially if you have a family that enjoys the pool. A pool alarm is a great way to enjoy the pool and not have to worry about someone getting hurt and today we are looking at one of the best alarms on the market, the AquaSensor Espio.

The Espio is made by AquaSensor, who also manufacturers the Swim Alert pool alarm. One of the advantages of the Espio is the fact that it is a small discreet pool alarm that sits on the side of the pool at the water line. This means no need for the unit to hang over the edge and on the walkway.
The Espio is a technologically advanced pool alarm which can automatically calibrate when you initially set it up to account for filter pumps, waterfalls, fountains, etc. So during the first 10 minutes of operation it can sense to not active its alarm due to these normal disturbances.
The alarm is disabled with a hand held remote that requires you to be at least 10 feet from the pool to disarm. This reduces the amount of false alarms and ensures that someone checks the pool if the alarm goes off. A wireless indoor alarm is also included to indicate battery level and status.
Here’s what Good Housekeeping had to say about the Espio in their pool alarm reviews:
“The Espio offers a swim mode — it automatically rearms when water has calmed after a swim. It is the only subsurface alarm for which the body sits inside the pool. And if the pool is currently being constructed, the metal support plate can actually be installed underneath the coping. Another nice feature: The alarm has magnetic controls, requiring a supplied magnetic key to enter swim mode. This design makes it more difficult for kids to bypass the system…” Read the pool alarm review full article
Espio works with automatic covers Some of the other key features of the Espio are:
  • Under-coping installation
  • 100db alarm
  • on/off remote within 10’ of pool
  • works with auto pool covers
  • low battery and alarm failure signals
  • NSF certified and UL listed
  • Automatic rearming after bathing
The AquaSensor Espio pool alarm is a top of the line swimming pool safety device that offer reliability and functionality in 1 small compact unit.

The Espio, as well as most of the other model pool alarms require a deck around the pool to sit on. The only one that doesnt need to sit on the deck is the safety turtle ( http://www.poolsupplyworld.com/pool-alarms/safetyturtle-SFT-TURTLESYS/ ), this alarm uses a wristband that each child must wear and if they go into the water the alarm goes off. The base can be located out by the pool or in the house. Let me know if you have any other questions about any other products, as im here to help!

From how you have described it, my first response would be no. Being that you have a vinyl liner pool you have to attach the alarm to the deck, this would make the alarm stick out from the side of the pool liner and get in the way of the solar cover track. If you sent in a picture I would be happy to take a look at it, but from what you have said i dont think it would really work. Thanks for the great question, and let me know if theres anything i can help with!
