Algae Filled Green Swimming Pool Rebuild Part 3 - Heater / Filter
Now that we have our pumps installed we can move on to two very important elements of any pool, the filter and heater. We will be installing a Pentair MasterTemp heater and a Clean and Clear cartridge filter into this pool.
The MasterTemp is a 400,000 BTU heater that will give us more than enough heat for the spa and our Clean and Clear filter is 420 sq ft which is easily adequate for this size pool. Let's take a look at how these elements come together...

Liner Guard vs Gorilla Floor Padding - Above Ground Swimming Pool
Why should you place padding underneath the liner of your above ground swimming pool? Well there are two important reasons to do so. The installation of padding underneath the liner can protect it from rocks, tree roots, and other sharp objects that might cut the liner and cause a leak in your swimming pool. In addition, adding padding underneath the liner can also give the bottom of your swimming pool more cushioning, which can lengthen the life of your swimming pool liner.

Non-woven polyester geotextile material is almost puncture-proof and it is thick, which provides a cushioning effect on the floor of your swimming pool.
It is cut and seamed together at the factory to fit the size and shape of your swimming pool; therefore, you do not have a cut, tape, and measure at home.
Installation is quick and simple for those do-it-yourselfers.
It eliminates the footprints you get in foam padding.
It eliminates leaks at the bottom of a vinyl swimming pool liner.

This is our first video in a eight part series of what it takes to completely replace all the equipment in a typical pool and what to do if the water in the pool has been sitting for months.
We start out with a pool that was left in a foreclosed home and had all the equipment removed by the previous owner. As you will see, the water has been sitting for at least six months and has become completely stagnant. But don’t worry we will get this pool back to blue in no time!
