WHAT IS GORILLA PAD

Above ground pools should be placed on a padding for two important reasons:

Installation of padding underneath the liner protects it from stones, roots or other sharp debris that might cut the liner and cause a leak. Padding beneath the liner also gives the floor of the pool some cushioning that is fun to swim in and also lengthens the life of the liner. Padding also lessens the occurrence of foot prints if sand is used beneath the liner.

Gorilla Pad is a non-woven geotextile that has been used for decades as a super tough pad for many applications. Geotextile membranes are laid down in landfills before the land fill liner is installed to insure that the liner is not cut or damaged by the soil structure beneath it. Any damage to a landfill liner would be catastrophic as it would allow pollutants from the landfill to leak into drinking water supplies. Landfill operators around the country treat this vital function to geotextile-like "Gorilla Pad" because they are so tough. Ordinary foam liners could never provide this type of protection.

Since a swimming pool liner also needs protection from puncture, geotextiles began being used in the pool industry about 7 years ago. After two years of rigorous field testing, gorilla pad was launched as the perfect liner pad. Its non-woven polyester geotextile material was almost puncture-proof and its thick 8 oz. weight produced the desired "cushioning" effect. It quickly made the more fragile foam padding obsolete almost overnight. Gorilla pad is cut and seamed to fit your pool's shape, so there is no cutting, trimming or taping as with foam padding. It is quick and easy to install and provides super protection against cuts and damage to the pool liner. Gorilla Pad is the perfect combination of strength and cushion, as well as east of installation. After 5 years in the field and 15,000 installations, Gorilla Pad has established itself as the premier liner protective padding.

HOW DOES GORILLA PAD DIFFER FROM TRADITIONAL FOAM PADDING?

Traditional foam padding like Happy Bottom has been used for years as an underlayment for above ground pool liners. The foam which was about 3/8" thick provided some needed cushioning for pools installed on hard surfaces. Happy Bottom came in 4' wide strips and had to be cut and taped on the jobsite which caused additional installation time and headaches. Since foam is a flimsy substance it provided almost no protection from damage to the liner due to rocks, grass and roots. When installation from it was very important that there were no hidden sharp objects buried beneath the liner.

Gorilla Pad took the best from foam and combined super strength with ease of installation. Since Gorilla Pad is made of super strong polyester geotextile it is almost impervious to cuts caused by glass, stones or roots. It will protect your pool's liner from any sharp underground hazard and lengthen its life. Since Gorilla Pad weights in at a full 8 oz. it provides all the cushioning of 3/8" foam. "Foot printing" will be reduced on a sand bottom and your liner will be protected if installed on a hard surface. Unlike a foam pad like Happy Bottom, Gorilla Pad is made to the shape of your pool and seamed at the factory. There are no pieces to trim or seams to tape. Installation is quick and easy especially for the do-it-yourself. We also recommend the use of pool cove in the liner corners and wall foam on the sidewall of the pool to cushion the liner and help reduce heat loss.

HOW TO INSTALL GORILLA POOL PAD
	Gorilla Pad is designed to be installed easily in minutes. To save time, read all directions completely before starting installation. These instructions are for a new pool installation. See the back side for retrofit applications.
	Step #1: Excavate the pool site as directed in your pool kit installation manual. Remove all rocks or other objects from your pool site that may damage the pool bottom. It may be necessary to use a tamping tool or sod roller to produce a smooth, firm and level surface to install your pool on. IMPORTANT - You must have prepared a firm, level surface before starting to setup your pool.
	Step #2: After assembling your above ground pool and before installation the liner, lay Gorilla Pad down on the subsurface.Since Gorilla Pad is pre-cut and seamed it should fit easily on the inside of your round or oval pool. If any of the pad is too long, cut off excess with a knife to be sure that it lays on the bottom of the pool.
	Step #3: For additional protection, install pool cove around the parameter of the inside wall of the pool. Follow instructions on the box
	Step #4: Be sure that the Gorilla Pad is smooth and without wrinkles before installing your liner. Fill the pool with water
