Idk what the guy with 1 star rating was talking about but a new heat exchanger sounds like you dont maintain your PH....which in 3 years will damage your heat exchanger...STArite makes a good heater not the best as i service these all the time....sure theres more bells and whistles in the starite so more stuff will go wrong like blower, board, stack flu sensor and ignighter....but it still a good is out doors so dont expect a life span of more that 10 years which ever heater you decide .. more

I had to leave this review after reading the 1 star review. I've had this heater since 2003 and have had no problems with it. I have an 18,000gal pool that gets a fair amount of shade even in the summer and it heats it up pretty fast and doesn't hit the gas bill too hard. I think it's a great heater. I brought it up from 63deg to 85deg in about 8 hours last weekend.

Installed 400btu cupro nickel heater in 2010. Heat exchanger replacement required 3 years later, 2013.
