The extension boots are installed onto the bottom ends of the stringers.

Above Ground Pool Accessory Features:

The extension boots are installed onto the bottom ends of the stringers. They will raise the ladder to a height of 56". Depending on the ground level on the outside of the pool to may not be necessary to use them on the outside legs of the ladder.
